Eryntix Adjustable Weight Bench Review: Full Assembly & Workout Test
ReviewBy SuperZydan3 min read
GiftedEryntix sent me this bench for free. No money changed hands, and all opinions are mine.
Eryntix sent us their adjustable weight bench, and the first thing I noticed was how heavy the box is. That's a good thing. You do not want a light, flimsy bench tipping over in the middle of a press. It was not a good thing for getting it upstairs, though, so I unboxed it at the bottom of the stairs and carried it up piece by piece. If you can, build it in the room where it's going to live.
Putting it together
Assembly is four steps, and the manual labels every one of them, so you always know where you are. I liked that more than I expected to.
- Step 1, legs and wheels: two bolts, two washers and two nuts each. The bolts have a hex head that locks into the frame, so you only have to turn the nut.
- Step 2, seat and backrest: four screws for the seat, six for the backrest. They went right in. Easiest part of the build.
- Step 3, leg extension: the leg piece goes on with one long bolt. There are two small metal pieces that sit in the middle here. Don't lose them.
- Step 4, preacher curl pad: two more screws, then the pads and end plates slide on.
It comes with a little wrench, but if you have a socket wrench, use it. It makes the whole thing way faster.
Luna and Zeus supervised. Zeus mostly supervised with his butt in the shot.
The workout test
Once it's built, you can lay the back all the way down, raise it for incline, or bring it all the way up for shoulder presses. Here's what I ran on it:
- Dumbbell chest press, flat and incline
- Seated shoulder press
- Seated incline curls and the preacher curl attachment
- Tricep dips off the edge of the seat
- A back movement with the bench on incline
- Leg extensions and leg curls
The leg curl is no joke. I had a little too much weight on it, and you can hear it in the video.
The preacher curl comes with a chain. I took it off and used the two connector pieces, but I think one chain link would give me a better range of motion. Play with that for your height.
There's also an ab attachment in the box. You have to pull the curl station off to put it on, and I didn't test it in this video.
What I liked
- Heavy and solid. No wobble on presses.
- Covers chest, shoulders, arms, back and legs on one bench.
- Clear step-by-step manual and bolts that lock in place while you tighten.
- Easy to adjust from flat to incline to upright.
Heads up
- It's heavy. Plan on carrying it in pieces.
- The included wrench works, but a socket wrench saves a lot of time.
- Keep track of the two small metal pieces in step 3.
- You may need to adjust the chain on the preacher curl to fit you.
- I didn't try the ab attachment, so I can't tell you how it holds up yet.
Key specs
These are the parts I put together and used in the video:
- Adjustable backrest: flat, incline and fully upright
- Leg extension and leg curl station that takes weight plates
- Preacher curl pad with a chain for adjusting the range
- Ab attachment included
- Transport wheels for moving it around
Who it's for
If you want one bench at home that handles presses, curls and leg work without buying a separate leg machine, this one earns its spot. If you mostly bench heavy and don't care about leg or curl attachments, a plain adjustable bench will save you space and assembly time.
My take
It's a heavy-duty, great bench, and I really like it. My son has been on it too and he's loving it.
