Unboxing the Hollyland Lark M2
Alright, so here it is, the Hollyland Lark M2 wireless lavalier microphone. Let’s get this open and see what we’ve got.
Right off the bat, you’re greeted with this sleek, all-in-one charging case. It feels really solid and has a nice weight to it, kind of reminds me of an AirPods case but for your mics. It charges everything at once, which is super convenient. Inside, you’ve got the receiver that attaches to your camera and the two microphones. These mics are tiny and magnetic, which is a really cool touch. You just place the magnet under your shirt, and the mic snaps right on. My only little gripe is the logo on the front. I get it, branding is important, but a plain black option would be awesome for staying discreet in videos. I’m thinking a little black sticker might be the perfect fix for that.
The case itself charges via USB-C, which is fantastic. Digging deeper into the box, you get a whole bunch of accessories. There’s a nice little carrying case, a USB-C charging cable, and a cable to connect the receiver to your camera. You also get both a Lightning and a USB-C receiver, so you’re covered whether you’re on an older iPhone or the latest Android or iPhone model.
But wait, there’s more! They also throw in some clip-on magnets if you prefer that over the straight magnetic attachment. And, of course, you get two fuzzy windscreens to cut down on wind noise when you’re shooting outdoors. It’s a really comprehensive package with a lot of thoughtful additions.

Putting It to the Test
Now for the fun part – let’s see how this thing actually performs. I’m recording this part on my iPhone to give you a real-world feel.
First, a quick test without the microphone. As I walk away from the camera, my voice is probably getting pretty faint, and you’re likely hearing a lot of the room’s echo. Now, let’s switch over to the Lark M2.
…And we’re back, now with the microphone attached. I’m doing the same walk away from the camera, and I’m guessing the difference is night and day. Even when I turn around and whisper, I’m confident you can still hear me clearly. This is where the Lark M2 really shines. It’s capturing high-fidelity audio with its 48kHz/24bit Hi-Fi sound, which basically means you’re getting professional-grade, detailed audio. And with an impressive transmission range of up to 1000ft (300m), you have the freedom to move around without worrying about your audio cutting out.

Key Features in Action
This microphone is packed with features that are actually useful. There’s a little yellow button on the microphone that you can press once to toggle the Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC). To hear this feature in action, watch the YouTube video below.
Another cool trick is that you can double-click that same yellow button to start or stop your video recording remotely. That’s a super handy feature for solo creators.

The Verdict
I have to say, I’m really impressed with the Hollyland Lark M2. The sound quality makes a massive difference, especially when you’re moving around and can’t stay right next to your camera. The build quality feels fantastic and durable, especially the charging case. And the battery life is a huge plus – you get about 10 hours of recording time from a single charge, and the case holds enough power for a total of 40 hours of use. That’s more than enough for a full day of shooting.
While there are a lot of features I didn’t even get to, like the dedicated Lark Sound app, my initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive. I’m definitely keeping these and will be using them regularly in my future content. If you’re a content creator looking to seriously level up your audio game, the Hollyland Lark M2 is an amazing choice that I can’t recommend enough.
Peace and love, we out!
