Cook It Perfectly Every Time: AlfaBot 2-Probe Wireless Meat Thermometer

The cook

The AlfaBot comes as a set of two probes with a display dock. It charges over USB-C, and I had it charged before I opened the box. Hold the button to turn the display on, and you can set it to Fahrenheit or Celsius.

The top of each probe is porcelain, and it's thick, so it's really easy to grab when you push it in and pull it out. There's a line on the probe that shows you how far to push it in. I pushed it into the center of a seasoned tri tip right up to that line and put it on the smoker.

The app

The app shows probe 1 and probe 2, the ambient temperature and the temperature inside the meat. The reading matched the display dock the whole time.

Setting up a cook is simple. Pick the kind of meat, beef for me, then edit the target temperature. Medium came up as 151°, but I like it a little less, so I set it to 145°. When it hit 145°, the app alerted me and I pulled it off.

The result

The meat was tender and juicy, and the center was a beautiful medium, just like we wanted. Perfect.
